Giveaway and Blog Tour stop for Chris Karlsen's 'Heroes Live For Ever'

BLURB: Elinor Hawthorne has inherited a house haunted by the ghosts of two medieval knights, Basil Manneville and Guy Guiscard. Basil is the man of her dreams, her knight in shining armor. She falls in love with him and he with her. Basil soon realizes she needs to live a normal life, a happy life with a mortal. A lifetime later fate intervenes. Basil, still in love with Elinor, is told her spirit lives on in a young woman and he is given another chance at life to find her.

EXCERPT: Although she’d at times experienced the impression of déjà vu, the encounters left her feeling unsettled. Ian Cherlein was a stranger to her. This inexplicable, powerful sensation of familiarity for him bothered her more than the other déjà vu situations.

AUTHOR  Bio: I was born and raised in Chicago. My father was a history professor and my mother was, and is, a voracious reader. I grew up with a love of history and books. My parents also love traveling, a passion they passed onto me. I wanted to see the places I read about, see the land and monuments from the time periods that fascinated me. I’ve had the good fortune to travel extensively throughout Europe, the Near East, and North Africa. I am a retired police detective. I spent twenty-five years in law enforcement with two different agencies. My desire to write came in my early teens. After I retired, I decided to pursue that dream. I currently live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband, four rescue dogs and a rescue horse.

  1. Good morning Chris, welcome to my blog. Many congratulations on your book release, and I hope you have a fantastic Virtual Blog Tour.

I love your covers (with my favourite cover model) and I see we share a love of animals. I have a rescued dog and two horses, myself.

  2. Hi Hywela,

Yes, Jimmy Thomas is a hunk. I do believe animals who are rescued, know they've been saved.

  3. *Sigh* he is, isn't he - an I'm sure you're right - animals not only know they've been rescued but show their gratitude every day! The are such a joy.

  4. Your book sounds wonderful. Who wouldn't like to handsome medieval knights haunting them? Love the cover! I believe in ghosts. Have never really seen one. Just shadows and heard things like my name. Once it felt like one past right through me. That was a creepy feeling.

  5. Hi Sue
Thanks for stopping by - I agree, Chris's book sounds so romantic!

What an experience Sue - I don't think I'd like to feel a ghost walking through me - I did photograph a ghost once though. It was at an old Welsh mansion, I took a photo of a friend in the garden, and when it was printed, there was a shadowy figure of a lady in a long dress in the background!

  6. Hi Sue,
Wow, don't think I'd care to have a ghost pass through me. I've never actuall seen a ghost but felt their "presence." And oh isn't Jimmy Thomas perfect to sigh over:)
How interesting Hywela about the photo result. Old Wales, kind of makes for a good ghost setting.

  7. Oh yes, Chris, Wales is full of myths and legends - and ghosts!

I was born there and lived there for most of my life. I used to keep my horses at the stables of a disused mansion where there were at least three ghosts, although I didn't see any there myself.

  8. Hi Hywela,
I've been to Wales twice. Both times we stayed in Hay on Wye, just to go to the bookstores. Visited Brecon and the regimental museum then onto northern Wales for Conway and Caenarvon (sp?) castles. Lovely countryside.

Any ghosts present in our very old inn in Hay stayed invisible. But as old as the inn was, I imagine there's a few hanging about.

  9. Oh yes, there are usually ghosts in most of the old inns of Wales - and I agree with you about the countryside, I used to do endurance riding in the Welsh mountains and I miss that the most now I'm living in England - the lovely, rugged mountains and the waterfalls, although funnily enough not so much the sea, although I lived on the coast!

  10. Hi Hywela,
We had a rental car which allowed us to venture into the Brecon Beacon mountains after we visited the 24 Regiment of South Wales Borders. My husband and I enjoy the different regimental museums. In Hay on Wye, we stayed at the Old Black Lion. It had a ton of history, great pub food, and lovely view of sheep on the hill.

  11. Sounds like you had a good time in Wa;es - and you won't go far in the Welsh countryside without coming across sheep - a well as ghosts LOL!

Forgot to say the place where I used to keep my horses was Nanteos Mansion - and the Holy Grail was supposed to have been taken there by the Knighs Templar.
