Sandy Lender talks about Binge Writing

Today I'm thrilled to welcome Sandy Lender again as she stops by my Blog on the last leg of another Goddess Fish Blog Tour.
She will be giving away, to one lucky commenter, an autographed copy of What Choices We Made, Vol. 1. So make sure to follow her tour and comment to increase your chances of winning.
Sandy is going to tell us all about 'Binge Writing' I'm looking forward to hearing all about it  - over to you, Sandy.

I think my day job, penchant for cleaning, and marketing activities have turned me into a binge writer. I don’t get to write fiction everyday for a set number of hours. Now, I write and edit construction info everyday for tons of hours because that’s the day job! But when it comes to sitting down and losing myself in one of the fantasy worlds I’ve created for the series I’m working on or for a short story or whatnot, I have to force that time to happen.

That writing time happens in binges.

I participate in binge-encouraging contests like the International 3-Day Novel Contest and NaNoWriMo. It’s also a treat to set aside a day on the weekend to write for eight or nine hours non-stop. I love to set up my computer and bowl of MMs at some point mid-morning and type until deep into the night. I’ve had those binges where I type until the sun’s down and the glow of the computer screen blinds me so that I can’t see the keyboard when my fingers slide to the side and I finally have to get up and light some candles…and then get back to typing some more.

Now don’t let that confuse you with my need for constant writing access. I’ve got notebooks littering my condo (in a clean sort of way) with pens (multiple pens in each location) so I can jot down ideas when one strikes me. You never know when the muse is going to fling a story idea or plot twist in front of you and, pow, you’ve got to write it down or it’ll dissolve like a staked vampire on Buffy. Those moments of jotting down ideas are on the opposite end of the spectrum from binge-writing, though. The binges are what get the novels completed.

Some days, you just want the dragon to win.”

You know, I've just realised I'm  a 'Binge Writer' as well, Sandy! I so agree about things like 'NaNoWriMo' too.  I did it for the second time this year and it's a great way of getting that story 'out' for pracrastinators like me! LOL! Now - let's hear a little about your latest release, 'What Choices We Made' from

 ArcheBooks Publishing and available HERE:

Welcome to a world of dragons, magic, sword and sorcery.
Dive into the legends that make up the history of the Choices series from established fantasy author Sandy Lender. Both new and familiar characters will enchant you. From families in peril to youth in scrapes, the men and monsters who shaped Onweald politics left epic tales in their wake for you.

As a special treat for Choices readers, this volume includes the love story of Ella and Rohne. She’s a general’s daughter with modern ideas about growing old at her father’s side. He’s a moody old god who’s used to getting His way. When they clash, she elects to run away with one of His guards. Catching the fugitives would be easier if the evil Julette’s minions weren’t crashing the party with her poisonous plans.

A stand-alone novella that newcomers to the series can enjoy, "The Influential Love Story of Ella and Rohne" offers suspense, horror, action, fantasy, and a sweet romance when an opinionated young lady faces her future—and a feisty god.

Sandy Lender is available for interviews and guest blogs. She will be giving away, to one lucky commenter, an autographed copy of What Choices We Made, Vol. 1.
